We’re not a corporate association built by people outside the trade.
We’re bricklayers, business owners, and industry professionals who understand the realities of running jobs, managing teams, dealing with builders, chasing payments, and trying to build something that lasts.

Bricklayers Association Australia
Brickies Network the Bricklayers Association Australia's role is to represent and advocate for bricklayers within the construction industry and wider community.
We protect, develop, and support bricklayers at every level. We keep bricklayers informed about changes to building codes and legislation that impact the bricklaying industry, while also providing educational tools and programs to help them stay profitable and competitive..
Meet the founder,
Andy Shaw
Andy has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. From starting as an apprentice, working as a bricklayer, and eventually founding and growing his own business, Andy successfully ran and expanded his company for 15 years to achieving an average net profit margin of over 20% year on year. This success afforded him the flexibility to semi-retire and pursue other roles within the construction field. He has since dedicated his time to understanding building companies, traveling to teach and coach other Bricklayers, and founding Brickies Network, the Bricklayers Association of Australia.
Brickies Network Story
Before starting Brickies Network Andy Shaw traveled Australia to research the state of bricklaying. He found it interesting that the bricklaying industry was so disconnected. Brick and block laying businesses operate so differently from one state to another, and even from region to region. Some businesses are thriving by taking innovative approaches, while others stick to the status quo and struggle with often poor results.
This experience inspired him to establish Brickies Network, the Bricklayers Association of Australia, a community of industry professionals. The mission is simple, to protect, develop, and support bricklayers, advocate for industry reform and justice, and elevate bricklaying as a respected profession.
